Having helped hundreds of men and women manage their weight and get rid of excess fat, the one thing that has been very clear is that the weight problem is not due to a lack of knowledge. Everyone knows exactly what he or she should do in order to lose weight. Most of my clients have tried many diets, shakes and even pills; they lose weight and then gain it all back. The real issue lies at the subconscious level, which controls emotional eating and our relationship with food, something diets do not address. You may be surprised to learn that we are conditioned to be emotional eaters from the day we are born, then with each stage of our lives, we add another layer of emotional attachment to food.
This is where clinical hypnotherapy plays a critical role. It works on the subconscious level to change your mental picture and negative self-talk so that the change is seamless and effortless. In other words, when your mental picture and goals are aligned, you will find that you naturally crave healthier foods, feel fuller on smaller amounts of food and actually enjoy exercise.
As a psychologist, I will work with you on exploring and recognising your unique relationship with food, your conditioning blueprint and any barriers that may impact on your journey. I will then guide you through the process of hypnotherapy and other therapies as required in order to gain optimal results. This is not a diet, in fact, I do not tell you what to eat and unlike most diets, I encourage you to enjoy every mouthful of food. In fact, many of my clients enjoy their favourite treats such as chocolates, but instead of eating the whole family block they are satisfied with one or two squares.
